Always loved drawing faces and don't remember a time I was not drawing them. Doodling imaginary faces was an important part of many hours of childhood multi-tasking: daydream, doodle, doodle, daydeam, etc. Faces peered back at me from the usual sources: clouds, tree bark, oil spills on the street and patterns on the wall. Animism seems my natural state. Surely, folks of any age who draw "imaginary" faces are drawing from a mental resevoir of faces they have seen. I like to say I've always been drawn to faces. And I still see caricature faces in the carpet pattern.
